Accessibility Statement
This statement applies to the website ownCloud.online and describes the current state of accessibility as well as how to report barriers.
1. Scope
This statement applies to the website ownCloud.online at https://owncloud.online only (including the German- and English-language content and the order and registration area “Buy”/“Try”). A separate accessibility report is available for the ownCloud.online software: Accessibility Report ownCloud.online v4.5 (PDF, 9.7 MB).

2. Legal basis
We strive to make our website accessible in line with the applicable European and national accessibility regulations. The following are particularly relevant:
- Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services (European Accessibility Act, EAA), applicable since 28 June 2025;
- transposed in Germany by the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) and the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz-Verordnung (BFSGV);
- the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 (as amended), which for web content refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.
As ownCloud.online is an electronically provided service with online contract conclusion (e-commerce), we align with the requirements of the EAA/BFSG and with WCAG 2.1 AA / EN 301 549.
3. Conformance status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA / EN 301 549. „Partially conformant” means that some content does not yet fully meet the requirements; the items listed below are currently being remediated.
4. Non-accessible content
The following content is not yet fully accessible for the reasons given. The underlying WCAG success criterion is shown in parentheses.
- Colour contrast (1.4.3):
- Finding: In several places the contrast of text and interface elements does not yet meet the required ratio – in particular white text on turquoise surfaces (buttons, highlight badges, headings and body text in coloured sections), pale grey and helper texts, and the buttons of the cookie consent dialog.
- Status: In progress [Q1 2027].
- Distinguishability of links (1.4.1):
- Finding: Links within body text are currently set apart from the surrounding text by colour alone and are not identifiable as links without colour perception.
- Status: In progress [Q1 2027].
- Form field labelling (1.3.1, 3.3.2, 4.1.2):
- Finding: A single input field (email) on one campaign page is not yet programmatically labelled.
- Status: Planned remediation [Q1 2027].
- Order and registration process (1.3.5, 3.3.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.3):
- Finding: The forms do not identify the purpose of input fields for automatic completion; error messages are not reliably announced to screen readers; in the multi-step order form the individual steps are not clearly named and step changes are not announced.
- Status: In progress [Q1 2027].
- Heading structure (1.3.1, 2.4.6):
- Finding: On several pages the heading hierarchy (H1–H6) is not yet consistently logical (skipped levels; some pages with no or multiple H1).
- Status: In progress [Q1 2027].
- Bypassing blocks / skip-to-content link (2.4.1):
- Finding: On almost all pages the page header lacks a skip link that lets keyboard users bypass the repeated navigation.
- Status: Planned remediation [Q1 2027].
- Language of parts (3.1.2):
- Finding: Passages in another language are not marked up as such; individual form labels and parts of the page footer are not in the language of the respective language version.
- Status: In progress [Q1 2027].
- Moving content and display on small screens (1.4.2, 2.2.2, 1.4.10):
- Finding: The background video in the header area starts automatically and cannot be paused; at very narrow window widths the plan selector on the pricing page is cut off.
- Status: Planned remediation [Q1 2027].
- Keyboard operation and control semantics (2.4.7, 4.1.2, 1.3.1):
- Finding: On dark surfaces the keyboard focus indicator has insufficient contrast; the drop-down items of the main navigation and the cookie consent dialog do not fully convey their role and state to assistive technologies; individual navigation regions and comparison tables are not unambiguously marked up.
- Status: In progress [Q1 2027].
Status of the list of deficiencies: 18 October 2026. This list is updated on an ongoing basis.
5. Preparation of this statement
This statement was created on 14 June 2026.
The conformance assessment is based on a self-assessment by BW-Tech GmbH, carried out using automated testing tools (contrast, structure, alternative-text, form and language checks) combined with manual tests (keyboard operation, zoom/reflow, assistive technologies).
Last review of the content: 14 September 2026. The statement is reviewed and updated at least annually and whenever the website changes significantly.
6. Feedback and contact (report barriers)
Have you noticed barriers, or do you need information in an accessible format? Please let us know – we are happy to help and will provide requested content in an accessible format on request.
